solutions improve workflow efficiency/patient flow, patient care, and drive down costs

Rochester, NY.  aycan, a recognized global leader in medical imaging, announced today it will feature two of its newest solutions at this year’s RSNA, aycan universal archive, a vendor neutral archiving and distribution system, and aycan smartvisit, which securely and reliably, collects, connects, and transmits patient data to care networks using an Apple iOS device.

We’re excited to demonstrate these latest solutions at RSNA,” said Frank Burkhardt, aycan Director, North & Latin American Operations.  “Securely, and reliably connecting the enterprise, and patients with the enterprise, leads to improved workflow, patient care and reduced costs—and both aycan universal archive and aycan smartvisit do just that.

aycan universal archive, a vendor neutral archiving and distribution system, is designed to help hospitals and imaging centers that have disparate PACS systems be more efficient with the management and sharing of images and other data.  Along with enterprise and cross department storage, the universal archive provides an open platform to use best-of-breed technologies, stores DICOM and non-DICOM images, and integrates RIS, EMR, and other patient management systems. Other capabilities include retention controls, compression, and the zero-footprint web portal.

aycan smartvisit was designed to improve ongoing patient care, particularly for patients that have had surgery or are chronically ill.   The smartvisit system (a patient app, built with Apple CareKit and runs on Apple iOS devices; a physician dashboard; and a data server) securely and reliably, collects, connects, and transmits patient data to physicians, nursing teams, and others in the patient’s care network.  Using an iPhone, iPad, or other Apple iOS device, patients manually enter data or its automatically captured by their medical wearables, and physicians review shared data via the smartvisit dashboard, where they also create the initial patient profile.

aycan will also showcase its aycan mammography workstation, which provides fast, and consistent reading of studies with excellent image loading times and an intuitive user interface that is easy to use, including the evaluation of dynamic breast MRI studies and breast tomosynthesis. Using Advanced Hanging Protocols, display layouts and settings can be saved in the 3D viewer or it can automatically display prior studies, which further increases the speed of the daily workflow.

All featured solutions are supported by aycan’s professional services team, with services that include data migration, design and implementation, and training, as well as ongoing immediate, live, customer service and support.
